Inspired by Jana Kolpen's book "Dancing with the Moon," Pfaltzgraff's newest creation, the "Villa della Luna," is a tribute to the centuries-old traditions of Italian ceramic making. About Pfaltzgraff: One of the oldest pottery makers in the United States, The Pfaltzgraff Co. was founded in York, Pennsylvania in the year 1811. This once modest-size shop (where salt-glazed stoneware was crafted by hand and sold to local merchants and townspeople) has grown and expanded with hundreds of dinnerware patterns (from traditional to contemporary) gracing the tables of homes all across America. Their new manufacturing plant (located just west of York in Thomasville, PA) hosts tours almost daily. Tour their facility and you can see how this 200 year-old tradition has stood the test of time with its long-standing tradition of excellence in craftsmanship, quality and service.
