Four Types Of Pans You Need In Your Kitchen
Cooking is easy when you have all the right materials and this means having all the right food and, more importantly, all the right cookware. When it comes to cookware, there are so many things that you will need that includes knives, cutting boards, etc. But what you really need to know for the actual cooking is what kind of pans you will need.
Yes, there are different kinds of pans that you should have to serve different functions. Sure, you can just use one pan, but if it's not suited for the dish you need to cook then your planned dish will become a total waste. Here are the types of pans you should buy so you can cook all kinds of dishes.
• Frying pan – Everyone loves fried food; fried chicken, fried fish, etc. If you are going to start frying your favorite piece of meat, you will need one of these. A frying pan has a flat bottom and it has sides that are about 2 inches in height. The sides are slightly curved so that you can toss food in the air easily and also if you need to mix anything in the pan using a spatula.
Make sure you get a pan that is made of stainless steel, copper or aluminum so that it gets hot quick. Also, if you are planning to fry anything for more than just yourself, it's suggested that you get a large frying pan.
• Stir-fry pan – Not a common thing to have in the kitchen, but if you need to stir-fry anything, your pan needs to be quite deep and have high sides. The base of this pan is a little rounded but not enough that it will roll off a stove. These come in different sizes and also have different length handles. It is built this way so that the heat is collected in one area evenly and all the ingredients are cooked right as you mix them together.
• Sauce pan – So you have a sauce that you think will go great with the spaghetti noodles you are preparing? Then make sure you are making that sauce in a saucepan. A saucepan is round and has a flat bottom.
This pan can be used to cook more than just sauces. Usually, people will use this to cook soup or when making a nice stew. The saucepan is also called a Windsor and most of these have a cover so that you can cook your sauce faster.
• Wok – You won't usually see this in the home but you really should have one. You might have seen one in a restaurant recently. The pan is wider than it is deep and it's a great alternative to the stir-fry pan. You can use this pan when you are planning to cook large amounts of food quickly at a high temperature. You can get a wok with a rounded bottom or a flat one and it will probably be best if it is one made of cast iron.
