Ever wondered how to store your cookware without taking up so much space? Have you ever thought about why cookware has to be stored properly? Well, it is important that you have enough storage space for your cookware because if you store these properly you are assured that these items are in a safe space.

Proper storage of cookware will surely extend its lifespan and usability. Different types of cookware and other utensils can be stored in various ways. All you have to do is to find the appropriate storage space for your cookware. Storage spaces for your cookware will free a whole lot of space on your kitchen counter allowing you to move more and reduce clutter. Here are some storage space ideas for your cookware.

1. Hanging racks. You must have seen those kitchens with the pans and skillets hanging above the counter top. Well, this is indeed one way of storing your cookware. Hanging racks take as little space as possible because your kitchen cabinets are kept free for other kitchen utensils to be stored although hanging pans are at risk for dents, especially if these sway a lot and bump into each other.

Another advantage is that hanging your cookware will make these more accessible whenever you need to use them because all you have to do is look up and take the cookware you need and you are good to go.

2. Kitchen cabinets. Kitchen cabinets are located in two areas. One is on the top part of the kitchen wall above the kitchen counter and the other is the one below the kitchen counter. The overhead cabinets are usually used to store plates, cups and other condiments while the cabinets located below the kitchen counter are used to store other kitchen utensils like spoons and forks and of course kitchen cookware especially those that cannot fit on the hanging racks.

Kitchen cabinets are used to store huge types of cookware like broilers, braisers, steamers and many more. These types of cookware cannot simply fit on the hanging racks and are too heavy.

3. Sliding Racks or drawers. If you don't want hanging racks because it might be too far for you to reach and you might end up having a hard time getting the skillet you want, you might prefer a sliding rack or drawer attached to your kitchen cabinet. With kitchen cabinets you have to option to have a drawer or sliding rack attached to it or not. If you use the kitchen cabinet to store huge cookware, then you might not attach either of the two but you can always attach sliding racks or drawers if you plan to store smaller cookware.

These attachments will help organize your cookware better. You can group similar items in one drawer or rack and another type of cookware in a separate rack. The covers of some pots and pans can also be placed in a separate rack making them easily accessible when you need them.

It is important that you store your cookware properly so that you will be able to use them for a longer time.
