Seven Small Appliance Organizing Tips

No matter how big or small your kitchen is you will have to maximize the space. Not only does organizing allow you to work more efficiently, it also helps extend the life of your cookware, bakeware and of course your small appliances, the kind you simply put on top of your kitchen counter top.

If your small kitchen appliances are well organized, then you reduce the risk of them toppling over, falling off the counter top and worst getting wet. Here are some simple tips to help you keep them organized.

1. Do not fill your kitchen counter top with appliances that no longer work. For example, if your waffle maker is no longer working then you should put it back in the box have it repaired or put it away in the stock room. If a particular small appliance is not used as often as the rest, then you might want to put them in their original package and store them inside the kitchen cabinet.

2. To keep your kitchen top from looking like a circus, it would be best if you designate or reserve a particular space for small kitchen appliances. This will not only keep your kitchen counter top tidy but it will also make these appliances more accessible and easy to locate rather than putting them in random areas.

3. Of course your small kitchen appliances will surely need electrical power for them to work and the wires can get really messy. Keep these wires together by tying them together with a twist wire or with a tape. This will keep the wires safe from water and other wet spots that might be present on the counter top.

4. If you don't want any small kitchen appliance on top of the counter because the space is so limited then you can always store them inside kitchen cabinets. Kitchen cabinets can be found either overhead or below the counter. Wherever you place it, make sure that it is sturdy enough and you won't have a hard time reaching for it whenever you need it.

5. Arrange your appliances according to use. If you use a particular appliance frequently then it would be best if you store it inside the cabinets below the counter because it is more accessible rather than storing it on the overhead cabinets. You can also label the cabinet doors to make it easier for you to locate it.

6. Keep your appliances as far away as possible from any water source like the drain or the faucet. Remember that water and electricity can result to electrocution. In addition, water can also damage your appliances. Remember that these small kitchen appliances are not waterproof nor is it water resistant so once water gets inside it you cannot expect it to work. Keep your appliances as dry as possible.

7. Always make sure that the area where you are storing your appliances is stable and sturdy enough. Remember that once you drop these appliances, the possibility of them not working is high so be sure that you keep them in a stable surface with enough space.
